In '97 the swedish singer Wille Craaford had a small hit with the song "Alla vill ha samma typ av annorlunda saker". I never particularly liked this song, but the refrain comes to mind sometimes when I think of things that EVERYONE seems to want, including me. When I look at the pictures I'm about to post of things that I like all I can think of is.... How boring am I??

Move in with me!
You have probably seen this already, the Blow away vase by Swedish designgroup Front. They made the vase by digitalizing and transforming a Royal Delft vase to simulate that it was blown away in the wind.

Ingmar's last wish
I remember one summer some years ago when me and some friends took a daytrip to the island of Fårö, just north of Gotland where I'm from, with the sole pupose of finding Ingmar Bergman's house. This was the same year me and my friend Anna took a summer course at the university of Gotland on Ingmar Bergman and his movies. We drove all around the island on teeny tiny roads in the woods, hoping to find the right one. We didn't. I'm kind of happy that we didn't. He was a very private person and the locals did everything to protect his privacy. In fact, if you asked them for the direction to Bergman's house they'd look at you and say "Bergman... who??"
When Ingmar died in 2007 suddenly everyone knew where his house was since a big debate started around what should happen to the house and aeroplane photos and maps were pulished in every newspaper. Should it be made into a museum? Should it be sold?
The house is now for sale (I've heard that Ang Lee, Woody Allen and Wes Anderson all were interested!) and so are all the the personal property that belonged to Bergman. All the furniture and other stuff will be auctioned out in september by Bukowski's.
Sad. Or maybe not. It was a decision his family made and according to his last will. He was very determined about it:
“This is my wish and no discussion or emotional tumult must come as a result.”
I went looking though some of the pictures on Bukowski's website and these are some of the things he left behind that are now for sale:
I was totally fascinated by the little bedsidetable/nightstand with notes. Imagen Ingmar having trouble sleeping and coming up with the idea for a new masterpiece! And maybe a huge fan will have a dream come true, watching TV in Ingmars Eames chair. Who knows.

Vacation is over and we are BUILDING stuff!
(Svensk översättning under bilderna, mamma!)
Ok, mybe not the most inspiering pics after being away for such a long time but I'm very excited about this! We are short of storage in our small place and when I found some perfectly fine mdf boards in our backyard recycling shed we started building the wardrobe we've been planning for so long! We used the space where there used to be a door to get some extra depth for hanging and made shelves on the other side. The wardrobe uses all the space up to the ceiling and hopefully it will swallow all our clothes. It may not look very pretty right now but I'm sure it will be when it's finished and I'm VERY proud we managed to build this on our own and without fighting ;) There is a lot of sanding, scraping and filling left and I can't wait to get it done!

Forget me knot
It's not this ring, but it's kind of cute. If anyone (Hrrm, hrrmm...) feels like giving me a present soon, this would be appreciated!

Another talented friend!
Salon Schmück, Berlin
We spent a wonderful weekend in Berlin, and a part from the discovery that night trains is the best way to travel ever, we also found this café in Kreutzberg. If I ever open a café it would look like this! We stayed for many hours.

Eye candy!
I'm not much of a wallpaper person but these clouds by Aimee Wilder are nice! I also like the cabinet/closet by Maarten De Ceulaer for Casamania. Like a pile of trunks!

Inspiration: Industrial elements
First pic from the book "Personlig stil- mellem kitsch og klassisk", second and last pic from a pile of inspirational stuff I cut out from magazines a looong time ago, third pic from Danish magazine RUM
The last life?
Remember this sad little chair I bought a few moths ago? I finally started to fix it up! New black paint and new seat! It will eventually be reupholstered with a grayish fabric and I'm also thinking about adding some buttons to it. What do you think?

Next Easter...?
Found these easter eggs over at Hello Tiger and, just like Tiger, I'm not a big fan of holiday decorations. Simon is more into it, the last two christmases he has been talking about christmas table cloths (?). Anyways, these easter eggs decorated in classic swedish tableware patterns by Cecilia Danell are really nice!

A gift to a very dear friend!
Very intense workshop together with my old friend Emma! We made graphics for this board wich later was given to another friend as a birthday gift. Everything was made by hand and each of the little squares in the top layer had to be cut out separately before spray painting.
It took us a few hours but I'm quite pleased with the result!
