Playful and ingenious!

I love everything about this concept. The playfulness and the creativity. This is an interior for a boutique made by Italian designcompany Marama.
That lamp is just ingenious, and look at the fading floor!

Sim sala bim - super slim house!

The 2,4 meters (or 94.5 in) wide home and workspace of architects Pieter Peerlings and Silvia Mertens (Sculp(it) architects) in Antwerp, Belgium. Obviously they are not very concerned about their privacy, I would feel a little exposed living like this but I really like the idea of making the most of what you have, and their take on what you can do with small left over spaces in the city. Probably a great way of showcasing their work too - they display it and live in it at the same time! Found here!

Copenhagen mural

This is a house in sankt hans gade (in the heart of Nørrebro Copenhagen) with a great mural. I think it's so well done, even the frames of the windows have the same coulour as the wall! I pass it by frequently since it's my own neighbourhood and everytime i think of how I would love to see more of this type of facades in the city! I am going outside now to enjoy the beautiful weather, since the man is home sick and needs to sleep.

I'm way behind with everything this week. I've pushed the report I'm writing in front of me a few days now and I really have to take a bite of the sour apple and really get into it. Wouldn't it be nice sometimes to have your own door within the door, where you could slip through unseen?

21,5 m² or 226 ft² in Warzaw

Jakub Szczesny one of the core architects of  Centrala , a polish platform for  architects working on different projects both interior and exterior, recieved the challenging task to create a functional space to be used by the owner 3-4 times a week and occasional weekends.With limited budget and time he created this colorsplashed, Mickey Mouse style mini appartment with a convertible kitchenette. I'm impressed by how he managed to fit all the functions into such a small space and even though the shower had to be placed directly in the hallway (Hey! mine is in the bedroom!) it looks very airy! I'm not wild about the purple colour but I really like the boldness of the screaming yellow/green floors. I also think that the kitchenette soloution is one of the best I've seen so far. A new life

I always had a faschination with ruins and old abandoned houses. They scare me and tickles my imagination at the same time. I went visiting a friend who lives in the countryside of Sweden a while ago and she told me there were two abandoned houses a couple of kilometers away from her house and I was immediatley intrigued and presuaded her to go for a walk and check them out. They were the most beautiful old, wooden houses and a tree had grown right through one of them. My friend dind't want to go inside so we stayed at the front door, peaking in, and obviously the house had just been left, since there were still curtains and furniture (60's style) left. I both felt sorry for this beautiful house, found it spooky and started making up stories in my head about the people who had lived there. Somehow, to me, old houses carries with them all the stories of the people who lived in it wich gives them some kind of a soul. Maybe that's why I feel so sorry for the abandoned ones, almost like they were human.
A couple of days ago I came across this awesome blog and found this inspiering project by Naumann Architektur. Unfortunately I don't read german so I can't tell you more about them, but I am in awe of this project. So poetic in a way, that the old house got a new soul.

Just perfect!

I know that posting something from Design*Sponge may seem a bit like old news to many of you, but I could not resist to post this one. The pics comes from one of the excellent sneeks peeks of blog, probably the best one so far if you ask me! It's the parisian home of Ombline de Kersabiec. The colour scheme is just fantastic, a perfect blend of pastel, neon and neutrals! And the home has just the right mix of industrial touches and soft elements to really really appeal to me. The raw walls, the naked light bulbs, the geometric kitchen. I love it all!

Sometimes I feel like there is stuff EVERYWHERE and everytime I open a drawer or a cabinet things FALL out. Living in a small apartment is sometimes a bit of a struggle especially if you are a collector (of everything) like me. Then you fall over photos like these below. This apartment in France is only 48m2, same as ours. How is that possible??? My next place will be an industrial loft with no furniture, I tell you!
